The Relationship Checkup

The Relationship Checkup is designed to help couples be proactive about maintaining and improving their relationship health in an engaging way. It includes a one-hour secure video conferencing session with me, as your relationship health consultant.

The session is tailored toward helping you and your partner move toward deeper understanding and greater connection, based on the strengths and concerns you identify as a couple. Even if you are doing well, this can be a fun way to celebrate your success and stay on track to keep it that way.

Finally, you receive a personalized feedback report that contains practical suggestions for keeping your relationship healthy and strong.

A proven intervention

The Relationship Checkup™ is based on 20 years of federally funded clinical research guiding it towards our goal of successfully intervening early in relationships to give couples tools and techniques to help prevent deterioration and manage their stressors in a healthy way, together. Randomized clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of the Checkup for improving relationship health, reducing depressive symptoms, and diminishing the incidence of divorce.

The Checkup has been featured in CNN, The New York Times, The Oprah Magazine, USA Today, Redbook, and Rachel Ray.

There are two books, The Marriage Checkup and The Marriage Checkup: Practitioner’s Guide, and numerous research articles.

I have had direct training and supervision with the creator of the intervention, Dr. James Cordova. His company Arammu is dedicated to spreading the Checkup to people everywhere.

What if we need more than a Checkup?

I am not doing ongoing therapy at this time. If you decide to seek couples therapy after your checkup, you are free to seek out any couples therapist of your choosing. Many therapists can be found on Psychology Today and similar websites.

What kind of couples you see?

I welcome all couples whether married or not, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, disability status, or other individual differences.
